Zoo Med Moto-Mister (good product)

Postby Ciliatus » 26 Dec 2008, 18:27

So, Today I bought a Zoo Med Moto-mister in the US at Petco. It was 30$ on sale for 5$! so I picked one up to try it. First off, the water cantainer part is massive, double your average plant/reptile mister but also, it already has the batteries installed and ready to go. I got it home, rinsed it well and used it and I really like it. Just pull the trigger and it mists for you, no pumping needed. It makes misting time SO much easier. My only regret is not a getting a few more for friends, lol. So, I highly recommend to anyone with a larger collection that requires lots of misting this product.

Sounds like a good idea if you don't have too many enclosures to mist. With just 1.4 L capacity, I'd never get done, but the motorized idea sure sounds good.

My collection puts me up to the 1025HD model here http://rlflomaster.com/sprayers/1002.htm

Oh wow, lol. That'll be my mister one day.....one day. I was still using the hand misters you see in the reptile section at your local pet store, so this Moto-mister is a nice step up from that.

I started with one of those small plant misters from Walmart, and moved up to a larger size about a year later. Before long, I needed a bigger one, so I got a 'real' mister, with a hose, but still only half a gallon. Over time, I've gotten to where I am now - 2.5 gallons. A few years ago, a friend commented on all the misters I'd gone through. She said that you can tell how addicted gekoholics are by the number of misters they've gone through, but the real evidence lies in the increased size. "Pro" model users are hopelessly hooked. :)

I have a black cat who follows me around at misting time. If I don't use half the water supply on her, she makes my life miserable. She's Salem, affectionately known as Hell Cat or The Cat from Hell because of that. When I'm done misting the geckos, she's completely soaked, the droplets glisten on her fur and she looks like she's covered with diamonds. If it weren't for her, I could make do with a smaller mister. ;)

Ooo and mine has a lifetime warrenty. :D

Whose lifetime, user or mister? At my age, a user warranty isn't such a good deal. ;)

LOL Hilde!
My kitten is face first in the all tanks while I'm misting too, so I waste half my bottle on her.. I think she likes it at this point!

I picked up a mister dealio from Canadian Tire last week, green thing with a small pump. I'm so much more happy with it than using those darn pump spray bottles!!! This one has a lock on it too, so I can just hold it up to the tank and mist away, pumping every minute or so. :)

Next up is what you got Brandon, then onto the big leagues.. tee hee

I got my mister at Rona. I think it's for weeds but it's a 'Sure Spray' gallon+ model. I love it. And it was cheaper then the moto misters, even with a discount. I think a 5 buck moto one is pretty great though. Before my stop point when when my hand started to hurt. Now it's when I feel things are well done. :p
